Our Studio
Halfmile Games is an indie studio built on a friendship that started in the 4th grade — two kids who grew up half a mile apart, still gaming together regularly in adulthood, that eventually decided to stop just playing games and start making them. We're a two-person team with an outsized ambition: to build experiences that feel alive, thoughtful, and genuinely worth your time.
The Team
Stephan
Co-Founder & Developer
Stephan is our sole developer and the technical engine behind everything Halfmile Games builds. After 15 years in the corporate software industry — most recently as a firmware developer — he brings a performance-first mindset and a craftsman's discipline to the field he's always wanted to be in. Every system in our games is built with the same rigor he applied to embedded code: tight, deliberate, and built to last.
Curtis
Co-Founder & Business Strategy
Curtis earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from Yale before deciding academia wasn't the right arena for him. He later completed his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, sharpening his focus on strategy and execution.
He now applies that combined scientific rigor and business discipline to the studio — identifying high-leverage opportunities, building key partnerships, and ensuring the two-person team operates with outsized impact.
